So you’ve just got a new truck, or your even your good old one needs a solid boost in utility, well look no further as I will give you the top 3 most useful accessories you can get for your truck to increase its usefulness. To make things clear, we’ll be talking about tonneau covers, nerf bars and fenders – as I’ve installed many truck accessories myself but found these three to be the best and most useful. I have an F150 and the F150 running boards have been most useful as well as the tonneau covers.
But let me start off with tonneau covers: you might be wondering how useful a piece of tarp could be but if you look at it that way, you’re missing a lot of things by not having these covers. First thing is that tonneau covers will be able to protect your truck bed as well as the cargo within it from extreme weather conditions such as heavy rain and snow. And if that’s not enough, you can also have gas savings just by installing these covers by having them reduce the air drag you get on your tail gate which is prevalent especially when driving at high speeds.
Next are nerf bars: these are pieces of steel mounted under the doors of your truck to make climbing into the seats easier. There are basically several types of nerf bars that you can choose from but they’re all useful for their main function. My Ford running boards never showed how useful they could be until I installed them.
Another thing you’d want to look at after Ford step bars are fenders and mud flaps – these are useful for one thing: to protect your vehicle as well as people and other vehicles from flying rocks and road debris brought flying by the spinning tires of your truck. You’ll never realize how useful it is until you hit one of those accidents so it’s pretty handy to have one for preventive purposes.
Any truck should have safety features as well as accessories that make them more useful for their owners that’s why there are aftermarket truck accessories you can install. As for me, I find that my Ford F-150 running boards, tonneau covers and fenders are most useful for my daily truck activities.
